All measurements in inches, taken on the garment laid flat — chest is half the circumference, so double it to compare against your own chest measurement. Body length runs from the high point of the shoulder to the hem at the back. Tee sleeve is measured from the centre back neck, over the shoulder, to the sleeve hem; hoodie sleeve from the centre of the neck down.
Care. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Non-chlorine bleach only when needed. Tumble dry medium for tees, low for hoodies. Do not iron the print.
Between sizes? These are a classic cut, not slim — most people take their normal size. Size up if you like room, or if you are buying a hoodie to layer.
The Star-Lite opened on 26 May 1948 — the second drive-in built in Tacoma, and the one that lasted. It cost more than $150,000, spread over three acres at 83rd and South Tacoma Way on old Highway 99, and came with RCA in-car speakers you could set to your own volume, around seven hundred evergreens planted along the fence line, and a sixty-seat indoor room for anyone who turned up without a car. Opening night was Golden Earrings, with Ray Milland and Marlene Dietrich.
The last movie played in 1996. The place carried on as a swap meet for another twenty-three years — a dollar to get in, power tools and shoes and a glass case full of knives — and the screen tower stayed up the whole time, a landmark off the highway. It came down in June 2019. There is a distribution centre on the ground now, and whoever built it named it Starlite. The address, for the record, sits in what is today Lakewood.
