All measurements in inches, taken on the garment laid flat — chest is half the circumference, so double it to compare against your own chest measurement. Body length runs from the high point of the shoulder to the hem at the back. Tee sleeve is measured from the centre back neck, over the shoulder, to the sleeve hem; hoodie sleeve from the centre of the neck down.
Care. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Non-chlorine bleach only when needed. Tumble dry medium for tees, low for hoodies. Do not iron the print.
Between sizes? These are a classic cut, not slim — most people take their normal size. Size up if you like room, or if you are buying a hoodie to layer.
The Paul Bunyan Rifle and Sportsman’s Club was chartered in March 1945 by fifty-seven members out of Midland, Tacoma and Puyallup, and bought forty acres from Weyerhaeuser the following year. By the late sixties it was the largest civilian-owned range in the Northwest, and in 1960 it became the first rifle club in the country certified as a tree farm. It carried the name Paul Bunyan for decades before it ever owned one.
The giant is a twenty-foot fibreglass lumberjack, a cousin of the Muffler Men that used to stand outside businesses all over America. The club’s own secretary wrote in 1997 that they picked him up around 1991 from a motel in downtown Puyallup after a windstorm broke his ankles. Others swear he stood at a Dairy Queen at River Road and Meridian in the seventies. He is inside the club gates on Meridian now, holding an axe the club gave him, and you can barely see him from the road.
