Dick Bown took the Spanaway 150 in 1970. Jack McCoy won it in 1971 and again in 1972, Ray Elder in 1973, Jimmy Insolo in 1974. A quarter-mile paved oval on a former dairy farm, three miles east of Highway 7 — and for five summers it had a national series on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rest of the week it belonged to everybody else. Hobby stocks, street stocks, figure-8 and spectator drags, four race days a week when it was busiest. USAC supermodifieds came back in 1985 and 1986. The Bonesses sold up after the 2003 season and the land became a housing development.
