The neighbours did not: noise, parking, roads jammed solid on a race day. The county approved an expansion in 1971 on the condition the noise and crowds were dealt with, and they were not. By 1979 an inspection found the tracks disused and falling apart; formal racing had stopped around 1978. Sunrise Village sits on part of the ground now. Worth saying plainly — this is not Spanaway Speedway.
